日本英文学会関東支部で発表を行いました

２０２５年１１月９日、東京農業大学（世田谷キャンパス）で開催された「日本英文学会関東支部 第２６回大会」の英文学・英語教育部門シンポジウムにゲストスピーカーとして登壇し、発表を行いました。

Is the Automation of Education through AI Possible?
Perspectives from the Classroom and Future Prospects

In multilingual communication, technological advances such as Google Translate have transformed the paradigm of language comprehension. AI technologies built on machine learning have evolved beyond simple translation tools to serve as “educational partners” that explain learning processes and provide personalized support. By augmenting human instruction, they are reshaping educational practice across diverse learning contexts. In today’s classrooms, students increasingly turn to AI to assist with writing and assignments. This widespread use is not only changing learning behaviors but also compelling educators to reconsider established pedagogical frameworks. When teachers develop a sound understanding of AI and its capabilities, they can gain deeper insights into learners’ cognitive processes and deliver more personalized, adaptive instruction. The success of such integration depends not only on the technology itself but also on the educator’s capacity to guide its use in pedagogically meaningful ways. At the same time, new challenges have emerged, including the need to balance learner autonomy with AI dependence, to rethink assessment methods, and to redefine the educator’s role. This presentation draws on practical experience in software development and AI research to examine, from multiple perspectives, both the current obstacles and the future prospects of implementing AI in English language education.

AIによる教育の自動化は可能か？
教育現場からの考察と今後の展望

多言語間コミュニケーションにおいて、Google翻訳をはじめとする技術的進歩は、言語理解のパラダイムを変化させた。これらの機械学習を基盤とするAI技術は、単なる翻訳ツールの域を超え、学習プロセスの解説や個別指導を行う「教育的パートナー」として機能し、教育現場に新たな可能性をもたらしている。現代の学習環境では、多くの学生が論文執筆や課題遂行にAIを積極的に活用しており、この技術革新は従来の教授法の根本的な再考を促している。教育者がAI技術を適切に理解・活用すれば、学習者の認知プロセスをより深く把握し、個別最適化された教育実践が可能となる。一方で、学習者の自律性とAI依存のバランス調整、評価方法の再構築、教育者の役割再定義など、検討すべき課題も顕在化している。本発表では、ソフトウェア開発およびAI研究の実践的知見を基に、英語教育分野におけるAI導入の現実的課題と将来展望を多角的に検討する。
